Luxury Beach Escapes: 7 All-Inclusive Resorts in Costa Rica

Beach resorts in Costa Rica all inclusive are among the best in the world, not just because of the amazing scenery that surrounds them, but also because of the high-class services, amazing rooms, and incredible private beaches they have.

Resorts in Costa Rica all inclusive on the beach are located on the Pacific Coast and on the Caribbean side of the country.

The country has a tropical climate all over the year with relatively constant temperatures all year round and two different seasons dictated by the quantity of precipitations that fall.

So, we have the dry season from December to April and the rainy season from May to November, with the rainiest months September and October.

The dry season is also known as the high season and it comes with great weather, a few scattered showers in the afternoon, many tourists, and high prices.

That is why you have to book your stay in advance if you plan to travel during the dry season and want to get the best price-quality ratio.

If you are looking for all inclusive resorts in Costa Rica for your next getaway you are in the right place.

The room was clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful. I loved that you could open the windows and enjoy the breeze from outside with a view of the mountain! The restaurants were good, with gorgeous views and great staff. The spa was incredible! Best massage I have ever had!!! It was an all-around great experience!

Brweweremilyj from Minessota

The best thing I can recommend is to join ‘Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica Discussion Group’ on Facebook. Everything you could possibly need to know is there! The resort is great, the people are amazing but it was really nice to get off the resort and explore. Delta vacations transportation was amazing. Our swim-out room/pool was great. I highly recommend a fishing trip! We loved it. Also just exploring La Cruz or El Jobo. The people are proud of their country and eager to share it with you. I recommend you bring earplugs (for loud wildlife at night), tennis shoes (for hiking), and school supplies for the local kids (you can use that space for souvenirs on the way back!) Wonderful place. We came back with great memories and new friends.

I rarely write reviews of my hotel stays around the world. I believe if you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything. In this case, I have a lot of great things to say. As with all exceptional hotels around the world, things are not perfect, however, what impressed me about this hotel, specifically, is the agility and ease with which they ‘fix’ things and cater for a highly personalized service experience for Guests. The staff is the gems in this Hacienda. Service from the heart and truly emotionally intelligent, hence the ability to personalize and take good care of guests. Special shout out to the Service Director, as well as Georgina and her magic hands at the Spa, and Gael at the Spa for his great attention to detail and warm service. I will definitely make this hotel a regular to visit. Forgot to mention that the rooms are simple, yet elegant and there is a certain charm in the building and the way it’s decorated. I loved the well-equipped gym. Thank you for making this a great week. I feel my mission here has been greatly achieved due to making me feel as comfortable as I am at home.

2. Westin Playa Conchal All Inclusive Resort and Spa

Why guests love this hotel

Robert R from United States

My gf and I stayed at the Westin for 12 days and had a great experience overall. The staff was all very friendly, rooms were clean and the food was very good. Not crowded at all either. Recommend upgrading to Royal Beach Club as the adults-only pool is definitely worth it. We also booked a day trip to a national park for hiking, river tubing, and sightseeing which was a major highlight of our trip. We booked this with Erik G on the beach right in front of the resort (you can’t miss him), it couldn’t have been any easier. Our guide for the trip was Sosa who was an amazing professional in every possible way (and takes incredible photos!). We fully recommend this resort!

Lexi from Georgia

The Westin has beautiful grounds. When you drive in, it’s really beautiful passing by the golf course. We stayed in a JR Suite. It was much smaller than I expected but good enough. WiFi was strong when I needed to work. The food was AMAZING! This is unheard of for an all-inclusive in my experience. Literally, every meal we had was great.
If you’re a couple or all adults, I would suggest the adults-only side. We did not do that but it was several kids around who could interact with a “peaceful” time if that’s what you’re looking for.

Kranthi from United States

My family of three, two adults, and a 10 yr old stayed at the Westin for four days. We didn’t spend much time during the day at the hotel, but the limited time we spent at the resort, we found it fantastic. From check-in to dinner reservations to check out, everything was spot on. Aug is pretty much off-season, and due to Covid, not all restaurants are open, but we dined in Bamboo, Manglar (seafood only), and Mitra. All are great, but Bamboo is outstanding. We tried in-room dining, and the food was served hot even after midnight. Beach right outside the hotel is not crowded, and the sand is full of shells. There are some activities like jet skiing at the beach.

3. Casa Conde Beach Front Hotel

One of the most interesting beach resorts in Costa Rica all inclusive is Casa Condo luxury hotel, a beachfront property from Playa Panama.

The 50 rooms are spacious and modern with high-end finishes, are split between the older and the newer sides.

Inside the property, there is just one restaurant, but the food is good and quite diverse so for sure you will find something to eat for each meal.

The hotel features two pools and direct access to the beach, while a fitness center and a kids club are available at the hotel.

Why guests chose this hotel

WAGB10 from Michigan

We arrived at Casa Conde to be greeted by Hansel with a warm welcome and a genuine interest in providing us with a restful, top-notch experience. Throughout our six-day visit, he was readily available, friendly, professional, never seemed rushed, and truly held our best interest in mind. The staff was just as attentive, friendly, and fun; from the restaurant to the pool bar. The housekeeping staff even provided flowers for the room. We enjoyed all of our interactions with staff, including our attempts at speaking Spanish. They were willing to engage and happy to provide. The grounds were well kept, easy to get around, restrooms available, amazing trees( complete with one awesome swing), and a beautiful view of the beach. It all felt very comfortable and relaxing.

George C from Dallas

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the grounds are meticulously maintained, and the pools are beautiful. The manager, Hansel, is marvelous. He resolved a couple of small issues for us quickly and efficiently, and he is always around checking on things. The chef is world-class and the menu changes daily. My wife and I have traveled around the world, and this resort is one of the best to be found anywhere. Southwest flies to Liberia, only 20 km away, and the roads are excellent. Hansel recommended the Buena Vista zip-line, and it is a marvelous experience. i can’t say enough good things about this resort.

D L from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Beautiful beach resorts in Costa Rica all inclusive, the master suite was perfect. They are just opening back up from pandemic so not all facilities are available currently. But we spent 5 nights here after a month-long vacation around CR. What a perfect place for our last stay. The staff is very nice and they are willing to help with any of your needs. Until up and running 100%, be patient and understand not everything is open. Inquire about what’s available, but if you choose to spend a few nights here you won’t be disappointed. Exceptionally clean!!

4. Croc’s Resort and Casino

One of the best all inclusive in Costa Rica is the luxury resort Croc’s located in the animated Jaco beach, Puntarenas region.

The hotel features one of the largest casinos from Central America besides the 150 rooms and 45 apartments.

Inside the property, you will find 3 restaurants and 3 bars, a disco, amazing pools located close to the beach, a fitness center, and a bike rental office.

The hotel is located within a few minutes’ drive from Jaco city center but with all the amenities and facilities available you will not want to leave the hotel for many days.

What guests wrote about this hotel

Marco L from Costa Rica

We enjoyed a short 3-night family getaway. The hotel staff was very friendly and responsive. Rooms are comfortable, nice pool and hotel amenities. Excellent breakfast options. Nice beach, though not white sand. Just 1 mile from restaurants that are a good option to eating at the hotel which is a bit pricey. We have been at the hotel several times and would return.

Tour484005 from United States

Beautiful hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. The food was great, especially at the poolside cafe. We had a room facing the pool and ocean, a stunning view! Unfortunately, the casino is still closed due to COVID problems but hope will open soon as it’s a lot of fun! Definitely will be returning here!

Brent S from United States

Everything about Croc’s resort was fantastic. The food was amazing and the beverage service was equally good. The staff was attentive, courteous, and accommodating. The hotel, grounds, and pool were clean. No complaints.

Amazing restaurant with great service! The food was spectacular. I had the salmon and my lady had the tenderloin. You can tell everything was prepared with love. Carlos was the perfect waiter and Elias made sure everything was perfect! Would highly recommend 10/10.

An amazing time! We were pleased overall and have absolutely no complaints. Highly recommend it to couples and families alike. The food was amazing, drinks were flowing, and the place was beautiful. We went to the Macarela and had wonderful service by Darcio and Jorge Lemont. We had a wonderful time!

Mariandreina V from United States

While the food is simply perfect – super tasty, beautifully plated, smartly designed with fresh ingredients – the service is stellar. Respectful, prompt, caring, and professional. Exceeded our expectations. All covid protocols are carried out, with super safe and clean standards. We congratulate the team for doing such a great job. Lovely staff. Amazing time. Pura Vida!

What guests stayed at this hotel

Christine from Maryland

I stayed at Occidental Papagayo for 8 nights with my mom. This hotel was wonderful! Upon arriving, we were greeted by the most friendly staff who were already eager to help us get settled and to satisfy any needs we had. The room we stayed in was simple and the view was beautiful – The best in the whole resort! House keeping wasn’t the most consistent, but we always had the essentials. The hotel seemed to be running on short staff (because of COVID), but you couldn’t notice a difference in service. The staff were great and worked very hard! The food at the hotel was really good. We were diving almost every day, so we would go to the breakfast and dinner buffets. Simple, but delicious food – again, with great service! We tried the a la carte Italian restaurant one night, which also had good food. Overall, the value at this hotel was outstanding! We would not hesitate to stay here again if we go back to Costa Rica.

Brad B from United States

Beautiful tropical landscaping with great views of the bay. Howler monkeys, green parrots, and lizards can be seen on occasion. Both pools were good but the swim-up bar was a blast. The buffet was bland and repetitive. Night entertainment was very good on the Terrace. Rooms were spacious and the mini fridge was minimally stocked with water, beer(2), and sodas(2) per day. Beach was decent but you have to go during low tide.

Christina M from United States

This is my second time at this resort and I will be back! It is beautiful and peaceful. I do suggest renting a car or booking some day trips. We went on a day trip and chartered a fishing trip. Both were well worth it!

What guests say about this hotel

Avidtrav2015 from Maryland

We stayed a week at the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica and had a great time. The food was excellent, the service was above expectations. Star Class is the way to go at this resort – Pablo and Samuel were our personal agents and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The Star Class pool staff was also very attentive and helpful. Every person who worked at this resort was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back!

Account D from United States

The resort is situated in a bay overlooking the ocean and mountains. Must book an oceanview suite. Nice facility. Good food. Must have coffee (Costa Rican specialty) (ask for Hanni) at F.U.E.L., gnocchi/risotto de Funghi at GUS (ask for Rafael), sushi/hibachi at EAST (ask for Samantha waiter/Rafael chef), and burgers/fries w/cheese sauce at GUY FIERY by the main pool.
Must have kickboxing workout session w/Jorge at the gym. He will make you sweat. Must do spa w/body massage. Really loosens up the body and relaxes you. Also, on the must-do list is have Costa Rican spicy drink (their specialty) made w/Calcique made by Christiany at the swim-up bar closer to the beach.

Ioana R from United Kingdom

We had the most amazing stay! The staff makes you feel like Hollywood royalty from the first day you visit the resort to the last day. I would highly recommend staying here. The drinks and the food were excellent! Bermond and Kriscia in the lobby bar went out of their way to craft beautiful drinks! (Pictures below) They made every single drink an incredible experience by adding fun bubbling ice or gorgeous flowers. They were much more than bartenders- they were drinking artists and mixologists!
The views and the beach were beyond beautiful! We slow danced on the beach to the sound of calm ocean waves. The views of the warm black sand beach were spectacular. It rained just a few times, and being caught in a warm tropical rainstorm was a wonderful experience! The rain only lasted an hour or so a time.

Conclusion

No matter if you want to explore the Arenal Volcano area with its hot springs, the Osa Peninsula, or Drake Bay, Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and there are many things to see across the country.
