From the start of our trip to the end, this hotel has been amazing. Food, villas, kids club and beaches are all top standard. It is the service and the hidden extras that make this place special. A big thanks must go out to our butler Mahish, he was there 24 hours a day to make our holiday very special. We have been to a number of hotels that claim to offer butler service, however, usually disappoint, where Mahish is the real deal.

Fantastic hotel on a beautiful island. Six Senes Laamu effortlessly straddles high end luxury with a relaxed informal ethos. The service was impeccable on every level, yet the ‘hosts’ (staff) were always friendly, relaxed and happy to chat with us. Our interactions never felt forced or insincere and we made really good friends over the week. A huge thank you to all the hosts both front of house and behind the scenes for making this amazing machine run so smoothly. Plus a special thank you to our ‘GEM’ Shihan would personified the culture here, he effortlessly organised our day to day bookings, answered any questions and dealt with our requests, often organising things before we had even thought to ask.. He was fun to be around, friendly and made the whole trip that much more enjoyable. The same can be said about our villa attendant Asif (SOS) and Riffath, Kathoo and Shaah who all looked after us in the various restaurants. Great people who made a great experience even better!

Goffredo G from Italy
Six Senses Laamu exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful location with a fantastic house reef and all sorts of activities. The villas are comfortable and spacious and perfect for relaxing in the sun (we had a Laamu Water Villa). The food is incredible – we tried all restaurants and were never disappointed. All the hosts are friendly, kind and attentive. In particular, Ainura – our GEM – took care of our every need and request always smiling (she is a star!) and Shihan made sure our villa was always clean and comfortable. The perfect vacation! Highly recommended.

3.Soneva Fushi

After a 30-minute ride on a seaplane from Male International Airport to Baa Atoll, Soneva Fushi will be waiting for you in a beautiful landscape.

It has all of the luxury and comfort that makes Maldives such a popular place to visit.

The services here are amazing. Each villa comes with a Mr or Mrs. Friday, a butler that takes care of you while there.

They can help you plan your free time, book a table at one of the restaurants, or book a trip to a deserted island.

You have a lot of private outdoor space with a swimming pool, sunchairs, and an open deck.

You also have your own private strip of sand where you can play with your kids or relax in a hammock.

The resort wants to protect the environment and the coral reef, so they are only going to build villas on land.

We have just returned from 8 nights in the idyllic resort of Soneva Sushi. It is a 45 min sea plane flight from Male and has its own house reef and the huge bonus of being 15 min speed boat ride away from snorkelling with the Manta rays and a green turtle feeding area which was an awesome experience and spectacle to see. The resort has an array of fabulous restaurants at fabulously eye-watering high prices – so if you have the option to go half or full board I’d take it! The island is great as it is lush and green with full tropical tree vibe inland yet they’ve located the beach villas at good intervals to ensure privacy and the brand new overwater villas are exceptional in design and so spacious… bikes are provides so all guests can peddle easily around the resort but if thats too much hassle call your butler and he’ll whizz you or your snorkel beach kit to any point needed at any time!
I’d highly recommend this island to families with children of all ages lots had toddlers and under 10s who all seemed happy and busy having fun whilst our 14 year old son loved the football camp hosted by a professional footballer (Michael Sylvester) and our 12 year old dipped into some of the kids club activities like having her hair braided and making bracelets and I even joined them on the educational snorkel and saline eco presentation which was fabulous!

Natalie from Copenhagen, Denmark
This is my 3rd time in the Maldives and I traveled with my family and kids aged 3-8 years. We had the most incredible experience at Soneva Fushi and it was just what we needed as a family and as a couple. The entire island and villas are just out of this world amazing. The slow life and sustainable living are truly genuine and somehow it is easy to connect with life, nature, and people here.
What truly makes a vacation special is more than the destination, villas, and beaches- it’s the service and mindset of the people. Our barefoot butler Alex made our stay just outstanding. He truly wanted us and all our kids to experience it all and he went out of his way to make it happen, big or small. I am truly impressed by the service and dedication Alex showed. Thank you.
In addition, the kids club (the den) is something that has all the dreams the little ones can imagine but more than so, the people working there are very sweet. My daughter Alexa had Risa as a babysitter on the babysitting service some days for a couple of hours when I and my husband wanted to snorkel and She did not want to leave when we came to pick her up.

4.Kandima Resort

This resort is not the most remote one from the Maldives, but it is still quite a ways away.

It is one of the more accessible resorts because there is an airport located close to the hotel.

So, you can get to Kandima Maldives, one of the most beautiful family friendly resorts in Maldives by domestic airplane followed by a short speedboat that lasts for about 20 minutes.

You can also choose to take the scenic seaplane transfer. This is a faster option but it is more expensive.

The views of the Maldivian archipelago from the seaplane are amazing.

Kandima Maldives Resort
Kandima Maldives Resort

What I like about this resort is that you have plenty of options for accommodation.

There are 266 different types of villas and apartments to choose from, ranging from beach villas to overwater villas.

This way, you can pick the perfect one to suit your needs and preferences.

The best villas for families with kids usually have their own pool, a big sofa bed, and their own piece of beach.

Ocean Villas are quieter and more sophisticated and are generally preferred by couples and honeymooners.

At Kandima Maldives younger guests are equally important as adults and especially for them, the resort has a wide range of services and facilities.

The Kids Club is a place where children can have fun and learn new things. The staff are certified in children’s care.

They speak different languages. There are lots of activities for little guests.

The Kid’s Club is open every day from 8am-8pm.

Some of the most popular things to do there are climb the wall and go to the waterpark.

The resort has more than 10 restaurants and bars, so you have plenty of options for dining.

They are spread out all over the island, so you can find one that’s close to where you’re staying.

The main restaurant has dinners with different themes.

The a la carte restaurants have dishes from different countries like Asia and Maldives.

This is totally a family friendly resort, in every moment and every spot. It doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful and private and romatic, but if you are annoyed with kids, this isn’t your place. If you have kids, it’s wonderful. It’s not a zoo, but they love kids, provide for them, and it’s very well suited for them.  My 8yo LOVED the kids club, and there were a lot of kids. They were always doing something fun and the staff was nice and laid back. The resort was 85% full with over 100 kids but we never had trouble getting in for our permitted 4 hours / day or more.

DebbySchipperSnelders1974 from Netherlands
From 2004, we’ve traveled to the Maldives for holidays and visited many islands. We visited Kandima Resort and completely and directly fell in love. We rate it a 10 out of 10 dont look any further. The resort is new, beautifully decorated (white. turquoise, bright pink). There’s an eye for kind service, joy and detail in everything.
…..The kids club is big with huge play field outside and inside. With water fountains, pirate ship to climb, inside with games, books, videos. Also for bigger kids nice to relax and just have a bit of a change in activities. Weekly schedule with nature-related activities too. (rock painting, shells, beach, animals)

5. Huvafen Fushi

One of my favorite Maldives hotels for families is Huvafen Fushi.

It is a great family resort that is only a 30-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport.

Huvafen Fushi Maldives features 44 villas and pavilions all equipped with a TV, DVD player, coffee and tea maker, Bose sound system, and Frette linen.

Huvafen Fushi ocean bungalow Maldives

Every villa comes with a private plunge pool, no matter if the bungalow is located on the beach or over the water.

You can see the fish and other creatures that live in the corals beneath your villa.

Huvafen Fushi Maldives bathroom

Each villa comes with a private butler who will take care of you and make your stay more comfortable.

They can also help you plan your holiday so that you make the most of your time abroad.

These are the new essentials you have to pack for your trip

At the water sports center, you can book different kinds of trips. For example, you can go snorkeling or diving to see the animals that live in the water.

Children of all ages are welcomed at Huvafen Fushi Maldives and there are special activities and facilities available inside the resort.

The island never fails to impress from the greeting by Noel the General Manager to Naadi our personal butler and the happy smiling faces of all the staff whether they be maintenance or management, you are truly made to feel welcome.
The grounds are magical and stunning especially on an evening.
The beach villa outside bathrooms are unbelievable with a bath 2 showers , a day bed and plunge pool, such a beautiful place to relax following a hard day on the beautiful beaches and turquoise waters.
The tranquil over ( and under ) water spa, the. SALT bar RAW restaurant provides a stunning setting for the sunsets whilst enjoying a cocktail or two.
Truly a remarkable island, a credit to all involved in making our 3rd visit special.
See you next year

Moements from Canada
This was our third island we visited on our trip and we are so happy was saving it for the last – it was the best!
We were blown away by the room – it was massive, stylishly decorated, extremely comfortable and the patio was something else. We always opted for a room with a pool and as it’s so lovely & warm it’s great to have the pool to relax in.
The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful – the huge hot tub was a little awkward to use but it had a great view of the sunset!
The infinity pool area was stunning and we spent a lot of time there. They had so many wonderful little things like spray bottles to keep you cool. And the resident herons were fun to watch.
The scuba team were awesome and we had great dives with them. My partner got to swim with dolphins of the house reef which was amazing.
Highly highly recommend the 2 hour couples massage experience in the underwater spa. Absolute bliss and we got to enjoy the view of the reef whilst drinking champagne!

From beginning to end, we felt like royalty. The service is impeccable and the property is other worldly and absolutely stunning. Our over the water villa was jaw dropping gorgeous. The resort never felt crowded and everyone was so helpful and kind. The beach has soft powdery sand and the infinity pool is gorgeous at sunset. Snorkeling & swimming in front of the ocean villa was a bit challenging due to the strong current but once we crossed over to the reefs, the snorkeling was beautiful. The food was amazing – Michelin star worthy. We dined twice at Arabesque. The honor bar with snacks and non-alcoholic beverage was great when hanging out in our villa. Free afternoon tea & cocktails hours for Bonvoy members was another perk. Transfer on speedboat on arrival and the staff walking us through the airport at departure were both amazing services. We were so sad to leave and can’t wait to go back.

GroovyBB from Los Angeles, US
This was our first trip to the Maldives and we are so happy we chose the Ritz Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands for our first visit to this incredible destination. Overall, the Ritz is a stunning resort with some of the best service we’ve experienced in all our luxury 5-star international travels. If the Ritz Maldives is on your consideration list, don’t second guess, just go and you will not be disappointed!

Just returned from 12 nights at the Conrad Rangili staying in a deluxe beach villa with private pool. Simply sensational…it is by far our best family holiday and we were made to feel so welcome and special throughout. The whole team is a credit to Hilton Hotels and we will definitely be returning in the future. On arrival we were met by Isaam our host for the two weeks – nothing was too much trouble for and he often made arrangements for us throughout our whole stay including trips, restaurant bookings and even our COVID forms. Room was amazing, clean and very spacious – and we were looked after by such a gentleman Jaleel. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we even swapped notes on the latest football scores !!! As we travelled as a family the kids club was really important – simply the best kids club we have experienced. The variety of activities meant our children really wanted to go including banana boat rides, kayaking and even a leisurely game of chess. The kids club was run by Ika who again made the children’s (9 and 11) stay very special. Food on the island is exceptional with a lot of variety and the underwater restaurant ITAA has to be seen to be believed !!!!

This was our 6th visit to the Maldives and the first with our two young children and we made an excellent choice to choose FS Kuda Huraa. The staff and the resort are very kids friendly and my children loved how the airport staff greeted us by name!
We stayed in the beach pavilion which was beautiful and the welcome snacks was a great touch! Special mention goes to Faisal for teaching our 5 year old how to snorkel and being such a friendly and excellent guide! The kids club was great as well as the turtle snorkelling experience and the dolphin cruise. The overall service was great and all the staff are very professional – the small touches definitely go a long way such as the lemongrass scented refreshing towels given at all restaurants and poolside, the daily popsicles, the crab race and shark-feeding which was a hit with the children.
