There are two main seasons in Jaco Costa Rica: the dry season that lasts from December to April and the rainy season from May to December.
The rainiest months are September and October, while the period May to August is characterized by short afternoon showers that last for a couple of hours.
January February and March and April are dry with only 2 or a maximum of 3 days of rain on a monthly basis, most of the days are sunny and warm.
The maximum temperature is around 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius) while mornings and evenings are cooler with an average temperature around 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius).
The green season that lasts from May to August has more rainy days but the rains usually last for a couple of hours and the sunny mornings and low prices make these months perfect for visiting Costa Rica.

The heavy rain season lasts from September to October and we strongly recommend avoiding visiting Costa Rica during these months, except for the Caribbean coast which is sunny and warm.

The main disadvantage of this month is the increased number of rainy days, about 25 days, but the good news is that most of the rains are in the afternoon and don’t last for long.
The second part of July or the first time of August (period might vary from one year to another) is the short summer or veranillo as the locals call it.
