VISIT Rhodes Kolymbia beach
Located in the Afandou bay, Kolymbia beach is a long strip of golden sand on the east coast of Rhodes between the town of Rhodes and Lindos.
It is one of the most beautiful resorts from Rhodes, being famous thanks to its long avenue with eucalyptus trees and beautiful strip of sandy land.

How to get to Kolymbia
updated August 2020: Rhodes Kolymbia beach is 45 minutes away from Rhodes city centre. It is pretty easy to reach from Lindos and Rhodes town by bus. There are regular buses from Rhodes to Lindos and vice versa.
The timetable for the bus could be found on each bus stop. Take a bus and get off to Kolymbia town. From Kolymbia town to the beach you can walk because it is very close.
Or, you can get a taxi from Rhodes town. It will take you about 30 minutes and the cost is around 50$.
You will have the opportunity to see the island and its beautiful landscapes.
Where to sleep in Kolimbia
There are many nice resorts in the area. Regarding the accommodations, you can find rooms for all types of budget.
We chose to stay at Sentido Port Royal Villas and Spa because it is a resort located right on the beach, it is adults only and the food, services and rooms seemed to be excellent.

Not all the resorts have direct access to the sea, but some hotels offer free shuttles to and from the beach.

Kolymbia beach area is split into 2 important parts: the north part and the south part.

The main beach is located on the south part of the area.
It is a sandy strip of land which stretches to the shallow water.
The beach has very nice facilities, with plenty of showers and changing facilities, very comfortable sunbeds and colourful umbrellas.
This Rhodes sandy strip of land is ideal for families with kids because of the shallow water and sandy beach.
This part of Kolymbia is perfect for watersports.
Jet skis, water bikes and water skis are just some of the watersports which could be practised on the south area.
On the beach, you will find specialized shops which rent the necessary equipment to practice these sports.

Rhodes Kolymbia beach north
On the north side of Kolimbia, there is another large beach with sand and pebbles, not as beautiful as the one from the south part.
The sandy strip of land ends in a green grass carpet.
The north beach has also excellent facilities like sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and changing facilities.
The only downside is that the sand is not that soft as on the south part.
Restaurants
There are many good restaurants in the area, all of them serving local and international cuisine.
On the beach, there are fancy bars which sell cocktails and beer as well as sandwiches and snacks.
You don’t have to be worried about food as there are plenty of options to choose from and besides that, Greek food is very tasty!
Rhodes Kolymbia beach is a beautiful place, ideal for families with kids and people searching for tranquillity.
It is a quiet strip of sand with sunbeds and umbrellas, to listen to sea waves and lay in the sun.
